My name is Sam Bartlett and I am an addict. I am addicted to China; I cannot get enough - the foods, the sights, the extraordinary and the ordinary. I am in love with the daily fireworks, the genuine friendliness and curiosity that I encounter every day and the palpable heartbeat of the city. Moving to China is the best decision I have ever made.

I originate from Durban, South Africa,and came to China last year. My previous life involved working with and training people, but actual teaching is still a fairly new and enthralling experience. My first year in China was spent in a language center working with students aged 3 to 15 years old. I learned a great deal, but did not have much time outside work to really experience China.

I feel lucky to be working with JESIE this year; I work at a wonderful school and I'm able to experience even more of this beautiful country. I have received amazing support from the moment I made inquiries.

I can honestly say I have never been happier.
