Alexis's Testimonial

I chose JESIE because of the companys preceding reputation.  JESIE is well known in the Jiangsu province, and throughout China, to be a reputable company to work for.  I also found that the benefits, pay, and contract obligations met the requirements for the job I was seeking.  Also, I was searching specifically for a job in Nanjing.  This is my favorite city in China and it can be difficult to find a job when you only consider one city for employment.  I was originally worried that I would not find a good employer, however JESIE definitely calmed my fears.

I think JESIE is a good company.  JESIE offers a lot of benefits and chances for future development.  JESIE is concerned about teachers and making sure they improve themselves.   JESIE also ensures teachers have the support they need to teach students effectively.  JESIE also takes the opportunity to have a meeting with all of the teachers each month.  It is a good chance for all teachers to see each other and to go over the upcoming events in JESIE.  It is also a good time for teachers to voice any concerns they have about issues that may have come up.  Though teachers have options to contact JESIE through phone, email, and WeChat, sometimes it is easier to speak in person.  These meetings are helpful to discuss any issues that we have.  JESIE also always takes these issues seriously and works to fix any problems that teachers have.

I do enjoy my life as a teacher of JESIE.  Compared to other employers Ive had, JESIE is much better.  Last year, I worked for a company in Hangzhou.  The first city I lived in was Yantai.  On arrival, I found that the company had lied to me about the accommodations.  The pictures they had sent to me were not the same as the apartment I was given.  Also, I was told my apartment would be a 15 minute walk from the school.  In reality, it was a 15 minute walk to the bus stop and then a 45 minute bus ride from there.  Next, I was told before I came that the school would help me set up my phone, debit card, and Wi-Fi.  The only thing the school helped me with was the Wi-Fi and it took them three weeks to do this.  I also received no training at the school.  My co-workers and I were required to work overtime with no extra pay (this was against our contract).  The cherry on top of the cake was when were asked by the school to hide in a closet one day because government officials were coming and they couldnt see us.  At that time, I called the company in Hangzhou and told them I wouldnt work with this school anymore.  I was guaranteed to work in a school legally and this school was not licensed.  It was illegal for us to be there and I could be arrested.  I was not at all interested in being a part of this situation.  So, within three days, the company relocated me to a school in Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province.  This school was very good to work for, but I was the only foreigner in the town and was lonely and bored.  There were other issues living in the country (such as major construction), but I will end it here because my story can go on for pages!  In the end, my life with JESIE has been so much better.  It has been the same as living a normal life in my home country.  I have not encountered any problems like I had previously.  They also try to encourage us to speak to one another through the group chat.  This is very helpful because I know I am never alone and JESIE is always looking out for me.
