On December 23, foreign teachers and staff from JESIE attended the Foreign Experts Christmas and New Year Party at the posh Shuangmenlou Hotel in Nanjing.  The party is an annual banquet held by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, which is meant to thank foreign experts (such as our teachers) for working in Nanjing.  The hotel provided a lovely buffet with many Chinese and Western delicacies, and the entertainment was composed of students from the Nanjing University of the Arts performing both Chinese and Western classics, and a smattering of entertainment professionals, such the balloon clown.  In the party, all teachers had a great time chatting with other foreigners in Nanjing and celebrating Christmas together.

Meanwhile, our Wuxi team combined the staff meeting with a seasonal get-together.Teachers shared impressions of the last month and were informed of the arrangement of New Year’s Performance and winter holiday. 

Staff from JESIE reminded those travelling abroad in the holiday period to pay attention to their personal safety and wished everyone a happy holiday. After the meeting, foreign teachers enjoyed their pre-Christmas dinner together. Teachers in Nanjing and Wuxi also chatted through facetime and expressed their best wishes to each other.
