On Thursday, October 13, 2016, a historic and important meeting took place at JESIE.  JESIE was honored by a visit from Chen Huabei, the Director of the Information Research Centre of International Talent, SAFEA, Su Mingyu, a program officer of SAFEA. Director Chen and Ms. Su had come from Beijing to meet with Deputy Director-General Wang of the JPDE, and all directors of JESIE.

The purpose of this meeting was to formally agree to the creation of a SAFEA-approved and certified TEFL Training Centre at JESIE.  This training centre will allow JESIE to train foreign English language teachers in a special TEFL program expressly designed to meet the needs of foreign English teachers who are new to China and Chinese educational institutions. 

Our esteemed visitors from Beijing toured our facilities and were impressed by the classrooms, computer labs and living accommodations for the teachers and TEFL students.  They were further impressed by the accomplishments of JESIE in its efforts to recruit and assist foreign teachers, and its continuing efforts to bring and develop fresh teaching talent from abroad.  In the meeting, a formal agreement of the establishment of TEFL Training Centre at JESIE was successfully signed. Director Chen expressed the wish to have a close working relationship with JESIE so that both SAFEA and JESIE can grow and prosper together.
