2015.12.16 - JESIE Open Day - XI
Classroom bells, Classroom bells JESIE all the way! While bells in classrooms ring, JESIE makes spirits bright with Christmas themed lessons and Christmas music teachers pulled out all kinds of interesting activities out of their big red sacks at Jiangxi Primary School, Meili Middle School and Shuofang Middle School.
Rebecca took creativity to another level having students folding their own piece of paper into their own personal Santa Origami. This had students very focused and determined to finish.
Paul introduced the students to Santa Clause, what his job was and the Elves that help him. Students were thrilled by making Christmas cards afterwards.
Kathleen discussed Christmas customs with the students giving them a better understanding on how it is celebrated. They also sang the famous Christmas song, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, followed by writing letters to Santa. The kids loved this very much.
Our other teacher Tom gave the kids an opportunity to get off their seats and have fun while decorating a Christmas tree. Abe though he would have the students get off their seats and open their minds a little while making large Christmas posters in large groups. In a short time and in big groups, students used teamwork to create the best posters they could incorporating some of the new Christmas related vocabulary they had learned such as Gingerbread man and Reindeer.
JESIE's Open Day was fun and had students laughing all the way.
