On the 14th of May 2017, the Foreign Teacher Recruitment Department represented JESIE at the Shanghai Job Fair for Foreigners. The job fair was held in Zurich Ballroom on the third floor of Swissotel Grand, a luxurious hotel located in Jing’an, the upscale central district of Shanghai. There were many companies there, but the majority were related to the education industry. 

The job fair, intended for foreigners looking for work in China, ran from 10 am to 4 pm. The visitors to the job fair came in waves. The JESIE booth received quite a few visitors – they ranged from job hunters to recruiting agencies to people needing teachers looking for recruiting agencies. While there were many people to chat with and inform, there weren’t many ESL teacher applicants. However, between the job seekers and the networking with other agencies, we were able to spread the word about JESIE. We might even have found a few good teachers. All in all, the Job Fair in Shanghai was an extremely educational experience!
